‘WHEN MONGOLIAN MEETS CHEMICALS’ BY WENG I (ANGIE) LENG
Nomads by culture, the Mongols have always travelled great distances. This time, young fashion designer Weng I (Angie) Leng of London College of Fashion, ferries them from the steppes populated by shamans to the Western world of the chemical industry with project “When Mongolians meets chemicals”.
Her SS 2014 collection is in fact a union of traditional Mongolian attire and hyper-technological and waterproof suits to protect from chemical and biological agents.
The functional element that acts as a bridge between the 2 universes apparently so distant under every point of view, is the very loose fit of the garments.
