COLLECTION ‘MANTEAUX DE SOIR’: STUDENTS OF ABKM AT THEIR FIRST INDUSTRIAL BRIEF

 

From a brief by Innofa, a Dutch company specialized in materials for interiors, to collection “Manteaux de Soir”, sewn together by young designers Maarten van Mulken and Sonja Nechar around the theme of hygiene.

Still students at their second year at ABKM, the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Maastricht, to realize this project Maarten and Sonja were inspired by the movie Roma by Fellini, a fantastic document in which everything becomes spectacle, party, carousel, from the lifestyle of its inhabitants to the ecclesiastical environment, though traversed by foreboding signs and funereal images.
