MOVEMENT TAKES FORM, IN ZLATIN ORLOV’S KINETIC SCULPTURES
For Zlatin Orlov (born in 1986), to share in a world of movement you must immerse yourself in its vibrations, participate in it. An idea of sculpture inspired by the kinetic art of Alexander Calder and even before by Mondrian, with his irregular forms and uneven geometries defining spaces.
It’s indeed no coincidence Zlatin was a finalist in the “kinetic sculpture” section of the contemporary art competition of the Modern Art Gallery in Sofia. His vision of space materializes in the expression of energy in an object and in the same environment, animated by a lively florescent skin that references pop art.
