PHOTOGRAPHIC PORTRAITS ‘EMBROIDERY’ AND ‘COLLAGE’ BY ERIN FROST
On a photograph, embroidery can be transformed into an adamantine reticulate and broken chords of invisible rays. Or elaborate collage techniques can transform a photo into a window that opens onto elusive concepts, like identity and imagination.
It is in this space, between photography and an artisanal operation of post-production, that the works of Erin Frost take shape. Portraits like stolen gazes that reveal and at the same time obscure the eye of the artist.
