A process with ‘no end’, by Dirk van der Kooij

Imagine a pastry chef that decorates the edge of a cake with a sac-a-poche full of cream. Dutch designer Dirk van der Kooij builds furniture in a similar way. Except instead of the ingredients and tools of the kitchen he uses an industrial robot and recycled plastic.

Born in Purmerend (Holland) in 1983, Dirk van der Kooij made his first collection of utensils and furniture for friends and family at the age of 13. He went on to gain a bit of celebrity status with chair “Endless” as well as winning the Dutch Design Award in 2011.
