Illustrations by Eugen Slavik
Eugen Slavik draws, paints and animates. He illustrated a number of books for children and for the adults of lively (and healthy) juvenile spirit. Also: draws comics and storyboards, cooperates with several design studios, doing flash-like animations. He lives in Belgrade, Serbia. For him, the quality plays the most significant role in the work, without need to stick strictly to one certain style. His imagination and skills are completely at the service of the story itself – every story, every task, carries a distinct atmosphere and that is what he intends to materialize as an illustrator. From the heavy, woodcut-like style of the illustrations for the book of Balkan folk tales, to the light, free style of illustrations for the crazy and imaginative stories about the traveler through the known and unknown realms. He avoids stereotypes and banal extremes, juggles with ideas. “When I feel like a reporter from the dimension of imagination, I know that everything is going well.” He graduated at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade.
